From Porto to Aveiro and more beaches

Porto – What should I say… I’m not a big fan of city tourism when traveling with the camper van, and I already saw several nice cities. But Porto? I really fell in love with! So beautiful and so many areas where time stood still. Of course touristic as well but on the other hand you still can find natural, daily life. Houses, view, mood and food – if you have the chance – try it!! We had a whole evening plus the next day to stroll around and I for sure wanna come back 😊

The camping space of Porto is not new or fancy but clean, close to the beach (10min walk) and at the bus station in front of the gates there is a regular bus to the historic city center! Very convenient 😁

Next morning we decided to drive further along the coast line and stopped close to Aveiro at a camping area close to the beach (Parque De Campismo Da Praia Da Barra). The camping site is more popular for long time campers with “summer house” style. Not very idyllic but close to the beach and cheap 😋.

The weather somehow got fresh and windy so we couldn’t stay for that long at the beach. So what to say and to do about the area. It’s quite touristic but the food (rice with seafood) at the beach bar was good and you will have some timeframes a day to surf as a beginner as well! Also you can visit the small town Aveiro, the “portuguese Venice” – ohohmm – which was not as impressive as discribed in the Lonley planet but still ok for a 3 hour trip! Nice area but not a MUST see.
