Enough time spent in civilization, we looked for a more hidden beach close to Mira (and bought some food upfront to stay alive 😉 ).
And yes we found a really nice spot! Wide beach, wild waves, almost no one around! Of course this means no toilet & infrastructure as well …
Chilling time and a sunset with beer all for ourselves and a quite night! It just got a little bit fresh over night (even it was still August), which is a big learning for next time: do not expect Portugal to be super hot in August, as long as you are in the north of Lisboa 😅.
Next target: get on the boards an practice for Peniche! A tip in the PTsurfGuide is the small village close to Praia de Paredes da Vitória. Some summer houses there, and a wide beach protected by a lion-formed cliffs. The beach was lively but not crowded and we could catch some nice beginner friendly waves. The night we spent on the camping site Camping Paredes da Vitória. the campsite is very wide slightly hilly, so not many even places for camping cars. Nice shadow below pine trees. Toilets ok, showers cold as long as you do not pay for hot water. Daily rate is very fair and The Walk to the beach is roughly 1km, 10min.
We liked it there very much because of the mix of available restaurants, mini-Market etc. but still not occupied by tourism yet!
